Brake fluid is ‘hydroscopic’, meaning it has the ability to absorb moisture. This moisture builds up and can rust the hydraulic cylinders, leading to poor brake efficiency or indeed brake failure. In our wet climate it is important to regularly check your brake fluid and replace if necessary, this will prevent poor efficiency and brake failure and prolong the working life of your brakes.
